During E-Week, Sain Associates Hosts Girl Day Events to Inspire Students

Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day is meant to inspire girls to consider a career in engineering. Sain Associates became engaged with the event in 2015, hosting one school of about 15 girls in their office for a short two-hour event.

Since then, the company has grown the event by teaming with the McWane Science Center and the Birmingham Society of Women Engineers. This is the firm’s 11th year to organize the event, with over 180 students from 11 area middle schools.

Sain Associates has over 50 volunteers in attendance to educate the students and share career advice. The girls participate in build challenges, learn from representatives of local engineering companies, and watch the Dream Big movie in an IMAX Theater.

Their company’s hope is that the girls consider engineering or other STEM-related career in their future. See event photos below.
